Oklahomans Against Human Trafficking Annual Conference

I had a wonderful opportunity to attend the OATH Conference. The conference took place on the Moore Norman Technology Center in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, April 13th. OATH is a great organization located in Oklahoma. Their purpose is to identify human trafficking through training our law enforcement, youth services, etc. to stop the trafficking of women and children. I was able to meet not only Oklahomans at the conference citizens from all over the country, including a few that lived in Europe and planned to take the information that learned back to their homes to inform others.

 Miss Black Oklahoma (America System) and I shared the same platform, human trafficking. We also happened to run into a few other queens. Former Miss Black Oklahoma City University, DeEtta Cravens and Ms. Oklahoma.

2011 Pageant Season!

Miss Black Oklahoma USA, Miss Black Langston 2010, and Miss Black Oklahoma Talented Teen USA at the 2011 Miss Black Langston Pageant.

Miss Black Teen Oklahoma City University & Miss Black Oklahoma City University 2011

The Miss Black Teen OCU and Miss Black OCU Pageants were held on Feburary 5th 2011. Alexis Embry, Miss Black Teen OCU 2010 gave her title to Falyn, a senior at Classen SAS. Sheray Franklin, Miss Black OCU 2010 and also Miss Black Oklahoma USA 2011, gave her title as Miss Black OCU to Robin Ladd, a sophomore at Oklahoma City University.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

On January 17, 2011, Sheray Franklin, Miss Black OK USA and I had the opportunity to participate in several events honoring Dr. King. Our first event was the MLK Prayer Breakfast held in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Miss Black OK USA and Miss Black OK USA Talented Teen with the Oklahoma Chapter President of NAACP along with a couple other pageant girls.

We then attended the ringing of the bell at the Oklahoma Historic Center in Oklahoma City. We met the first female governor of Oklahoma, Mary Fallin.

The ringing of the bell took place promptly at 11:00am. Several local news stations were present for the historical event.

Later in the afternoon, we attended the annual Martin Luther King Jr. parade held in downtown Oklahoma City.

Kipp Academy & "Red Dress" Photo Shoot

On October 28, 2010, I went to Kipp Academy in Oklahoma City to present the school supplies. During the past summer I partnered with M.A.C. Entertainment and fundraised school supplies for inner city students. We were able to raise money for several elementary schoools in Oklahoma City.

During the summer, the Miss Black Oklahoma/Talented Teen USA contestants were in a photo shoot conducted by JCi Photography.

Langston University & Booths at DECA Fall Leadership Conference

On October 16th, Miss Black Oklahoma and I participated in the Annual Langston Homecoming Parade in Langston, OK. Langston in the only Historically Black University in Oklahoma.

I am also a DECA state officer. DECA is an assocation of marketing students. We had our annual Fall Leadership Conference at the Meinders School of Business at Oklahoma City University. I set up two boths. One promoting the Miss Black Oklahoma Talented Teen USA Scholarship Pageant.

And the other promoting my platform, Oklahomans Against Trafficking Humans.

Oklahomans Against Trafficking Humans Golf Tournament Fundraiser

My platform being OATH, Oklahomans Against Trafficking Humans I participated in a fundraiser to raise money. The money went to a state-wide research on human trafficking conducted by the University of Oklahoma as well as to pay the undercover law enforcement in, Tulsa who worked outside of work hours tocrack down on predators.
